Park Facilities
- The Reception; Here you will find extensive information about Luxembourg and vicinity. Not only will you find hiking maps, fishing permits, bicycle and mountain bike routes, but also a library and DVD rental, camping supplies and various kinds of gas.
- Our Shop; Here you will find most commonly used groceries and you will be able to order daily fresh bread. Also snacks and take out meals are available.
- Sanitary Facilities; Without coins or keys you can use our warm water showers . We also have a washer and dryer available and the possibility to freeze your cooling elements.
- Wireless Internet; On a large part of the camping you can enjoy the use of wireless internet on your laptop at your own camping site.
In case you do not have a laptop we have wireless internet facilities available for you in a special designated room, across from the reception. As a service we offer our guests a one time usage of 20 minutes free wireless internet , so that you will be able to send or receive a message or find special tourist info.
- Specially for children: Kohnenhof has a lot to offer for children. We have a big playground , three professional trampolines, a soccer and basketball field, jeu de boulles, ping pong tables and a playroom, a kilometer long river for swimming, fishing, boating and building dams.
- Our River The OUR; Our river the Our has the cleanest water in Luxembourg and forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany. We have our own little ferry to cross over. Many camp sites are directly located on the water. Because the depth of the water varies from 20cm to 2 meter, it is fun for everyone.

Out&about;
- Waking/Nordic walking; From the camping you can take miles of hiking trips and enjoy the scenery of hills and valleys. In addition there are several named hiking trails, such as het Klankpad and the Champs Elysees. Also famous “Klein Switserland” with its massive rock formations is not far from our camping.
In close vicinity there are several international hiking trails among others the Grand Randonee 5 to Nice, the Pieterpad and the pilgrims route (E3) to Santiago de Campostella.
The other site of the border river the Our can be reached with our own little ferry. Here you will find the Ardennes Eifel trail. Along the trail you will find a landmark farm house where you can enjoy home made pies and refreshments.
Nordic Walking is a very popular activity in our region (sometimes in organized groups)
- Horse back riding; can be enjoyed at several location within short distance from the camping. The closest facility is 10 minutes. Reservations can be made via the reception.
- Tennis; There are several tennis courts within 10 minutes from the camping, clay as well as artificial grass surface. Reservations can be made via the reception.
- Swimming; is possible in the river OUR adjacent to our camping. Depending on weather conditions the depth of the water varies between 15 inch and 6 ft.
In addition to our river there are two large lakes in the vicinity with small sand beaches, a large open air swimming pool with several slides and several indoor swimming pools at 15 minutes driving from Kohnenhof.
- Mountain biking; has become very popular in our region, with several designated trails for beginners to experienced bikers. In the summer we regularly organize Mountain bike tours. Brochures with maps and descriptions of the trails can be obtained at the reception. Mountain bikes can be rented at the reception.
- Canoeing can be done on the river OUR adjacent to the camping, this is only available between October first and April.1st. There are several locations where canoes and kayaks can be rented for trips on the River Sure, near Diekirch. Information can be obtained at the reception.
- Nature, Cities and Castels; Numerous sightseeing trips can be made ,exploring the beauty of Luxembourg. Endless forests with impressive hills and valleys with many brooks and rivers.
In the vicinity there are numerous famous castles, among others the castles in Vianden, Bourscheid and Beaufort. The cities of Clervaux, Vianden, Echternach and Diekirch are worth a visit.
- Luxembourg city; In 2007 the city Luxembourg was again declared the cultural center of Europe. This ancient city has many landmark buildings and offers a broad cultural life. Being the capital of the country it offers great shopping centers. Some of the highlights are the Kazamatten, the old city in the valley, the tourist train and a number of museums.
- Specially for children; In the immediate vicinity of our camping there are lots of activities for children. Among others a nature and animal farm (The Robbescheier) where you can bake your own bread, press honey, make ceramic and candles. A large zoo (Eifelzoo), a zoo with theme park (Eifelpark), a rock climbing adventure park, suitable for young and old and in Vianden a large open air swimming pool with a cable lift.
The whole region around the camping is teeming with wild life, on an evening tour by car you might encounter deer, wild pigs and foxes.

Entertainment:
Our camping is offering lots of entertainment during the high season. A Dutch entertainment team is in charge. At 10 a.m. entertainment starts already with arts and crafts in our special facility for this purpose.
At 2p.m. there are sports or games for all ages. From 6 p.m. on there is dancing with the clowns or theater performances.
After 8 p.m. there are activities for the somewhat older youth, with often a small soccer game, a show, karaoke or mini playback show.
We also offer accompanied hikes, mountain bike tours, volleyball for adults or a campfire with marshmallows.
There is plenty to do for everyone….
