Ruoms campsite (Ardèche)

At the foot of the 17th-century castle, Le Château de Sampzon, you are cordially welcome to stay at one of our 300 shady pitches or in one of our 27 lovely chalets from where you can enjoy the Mediterranean climate, the scenic natural surroundings, the picturesque villages and the many possibilities for outdoor recreation. The perfect combination of activity and restful relaxation.


>> Facilities

Upon arrival you will be received in the beautiful reception area adjoining the historic main building. On the way to the centre, you’re sure to notice the splendid trees and flowering plants that add so much to the campground’s park-like charm.

The friendly eating facilities and well-stocked shop are centrally located on a pretty square overlooking the heated swimming pool with sun terrace.

The attractive square is a frequent venue for recreational activities organised for young and old during the summer season. Right in the middle of the campsite you can also enjoy sports and games. Take your pick from a wide selection: tennis, table tennis, jeu de boules, and play equipment.

The centre has also cleared two athletic fields that are perfect for playing football, handball, basketball, etc. To cool off afterward, take a dip in the nearby River Ardèche. The river is the natural boundary for the centre and is easily accessible. Perfect for swimming, fishing and/or boating. Sunbathers are welcome, too, and are sure to enjoy the beach along the river with a view to the hills of Sampzon.


>> Accomodation

Pitches –The beautifully wooded site offers spaciously laid-out, shady pitches, all provided with electricity.

The sanitary facilities are convenient and clean.

Gîtes – At beautiful and sheltered locations (of 150m2) stand our new mobile homes for 6 persons. There are 2 different types: the 6LB (of 8 by 4 metres) and the 6LB+ (= the luxury version of 8,7 by 4 metres). You have in your mobile home the disposition of a master bedroom with a double bed and a children's bedroom with 2 times a single bed. As well the 6LB as the 6LB+ have a double sofa bed in the living room. Moreover, the 6LB+ has a third bedroom with 2x a single bed. There are pillows and single eiderdowns present for minimum 6 persons. Though, you need to bring linen and towels yourself. Both mobile homes have further the disposition over a bathroom with shower and washbasin, separated toilet, a kitchen with a gas cooker with 4 rings, a microwave and a cooler/freezer combination. The spacious sitting and eating area make the comfort complete. A terrace table with 6 chairs and 2 beds are ready for you at the sun terrace. If desired you can place an occasional tent (for max. 2 persons) on your property.

There is also one 4-person apartment for rent. Located on the first floor overlooking the swimming pool, the apartment provides you with luxurious furnishings and every convenience.


>> Activities

We organise all kinds of activities for young and old from May to September. Craft classes, treasure hunts, face painting, sports tournaments, evening games, bingo, party evenings, etc., etc. Something for everyone. We also show films regularly in the campground’s recreation room.

The immediate vicinity also offers many recreational opportunities for an unforgettable holiday.

“By land”: the hills of the Ardèche are inviting for short and long hikes or for horseback riding.

“By sea”: the convergence of three rivers (the Chassezac, the Beaume and the Ardèche) offer lots of opportunities for various water sports such as canoeing, rafting, fishing, etc.

And “by air”: admire the beauties of nature from overhead; we’ll be pleased to get any of you daredevils in contact with the cliff parachuting or hang-gliding instructors.
