| Town description | - Llançà is a very well situated village, near the main towns of Figueres and Girona and at only two hours from Barcelona.
In Figueres you can find the Dali Museum and an important shopping area. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays there are markets. Figueres is situated at only 15 minutes by train or car from Llançà.
There are several small Mediterranean villages along the coast to visit: Collioure, El Port de la Selva, Cadaqués - Cap de Creus (Dalí´s house), the fishing villages of Roses and L'Escala, and the touristic resort of Empuriabrava.
Natural protected areas: Cap de Creus (Protected sea and coast area), L'Albera (Protected mountain area), Els Aiguamolls de l'Empordà (Important bird zone), La Garrotxa (Volcanic area) perfect to have nice walks. Llançà is situated at only 1 hour from the Pyrenees Mountains.
Medieval villages: Peralada with a fantastic music festival, Besalú Romanic village, Santa Pau volcanic area, Pals and La Bisbal with ceramics industry and the historical Jewish city of Girona.

You will find an excellent selection of beaches and small quiet coves, as well as the richness of significant elements of cultural inherit age, from megalithic (with dolmens and prehistoric remains) to pre-Romanesque, which makes Llançà an ideal destination for family holidays. It offers both cultural and sporting activities. There are several popular festivities throughout the year. It has also an important watercolour gallery. This wide range of activities is complemented with the Nautical Club situated in a natural harbour.
Llançà has about 7 km of coastline.
The centre of the village and the port offer a wide range of shopping with a large diversity of products and the daily arrival of fishing-ships into the harbour. You can buy fresh fish in the small shops nearby.
